The H.I.P. Helmet

The Head Impact Prevention H.I.P. Helmet was born from a desire to protect brain health and support the longevity of people who experience impact while on the field of battle, whether that be literal for our soldiers, or figurative for athletes.

The unique biomimicking design takes solutions from nature to achieve that goal.

Force Distribution

did you know?
Ram horns are grown with a bony core and softer keratin on the outside, which lessens the impact of a direct hit.

The H.I.P. Head Impact Prevention Helmet has multiple technologies that distribute the force from impact around the helmet and away from the skull and brain.

Like a ram’s horn, multiple layers of materials were thoughtfully chosen for the H.I.P. helmet to soften the blow from the impact of falls, hits, blast waves, shock waves and more.

The armadillo’s armor has distinctive mechanical qualities, including tiles that are connected by collagen fibers with a uniquely high tensile strength.

The segmented design of the H.I.P helmet has expansion points around the helmet. These points keep the plates of the helmet connected, while also enabling movement between them, slowing the energy of impact and protecting the brain.

“Arteries” throughout panels help to exhaust energy created by impact out of the helmet.

Woodpeckers’ tongues internally wrap all the way around their skulls, protecting them from the incredible force created by slamming their beaks against trees.

The internal structure of the H.I.P. Helmet stabilizes and absorbs shock around the skull. The lining features a micro texture between the hexagonal pattern for additional movement.

Add-On Compatibility

The H.I.P. Helmet is compatible with add-on accessories for on-helmet lights, cameras, communication technologies and more. Its modular add-on capabilities make it adaptable to mission-specific needs.
